LIST BUILDING

List Building
We have heard, over and over again, “the money in the list” but is this statement exactly true. How does a person just starting out build a list? I will explain what I mean when I say is this statement true. It is true to the degree that you have to have a list to enable you to make your money but unless it is a targeted list that you have built a relationship with over time, you will make very little money from it.
All the top marketers know how to build a list and this is what they do. They go on forums or create surveys and ask questions, to find out what are people new to internet marketing are having difficulties with. It is then a matter of them supplying the information on the nominated subjects. The majority of the questions usually are about “How do I build a list”? Or “How to I drive traffic to my site”? These would be the two most frequent topic s that the newbie asks. These top marketers then begin to design a product that will fill that need.
Anyone can do this. It is not the exclusive domain of the top marketer.  You go on the forum and do exactly what the “gurus” are doing. You have to do some research to gain the knowledge if you do not already have it. Create a product that answers the most asked questions. Go to your website, create an opt-inbox and assemble your answers in the form of a report or ebook and give it away for free.  Build a relationship with your followers. Give it away on the forum and you will soon find that you will have traffic coming to your site. This information could probably be placed on any forum site where you see people are having trouble building a list or getting traffic. This problem applies to all niches.
You have to continue to foster the relationship with your list. You will send them a follow up email to see if the product helped them. This is one of the keys of success. By fostering the relationship, people will start to see you as a friend. We all know that we would prefer to buy a product from a friend rather than a stranger. Once you have this relationship and reputation, it will not be long before people are opt-in to your list in ever increasing numbers.
Now if you want to learn more, I would like you to go to my site………..

Hi Mark,

I enjoyed reading your post and the good advice that it contains about list building.

Particularly going to forums and finding out what people are having problems with and what solutions they are looking for.

Although I’ve heard it said before, it is not mentioned that often.

The only thing that I have a bit of a problem with is that in some forums there seem to be more people offering solutions than those who are looking for them.

Building a relationship with the people that join your list is very important and nearly never done.

I see that you are trying to change that by doing your part.

Take care,
Vance

Hey Mark,

The list is definitely the way to go when you see the open rate in a weber and know that it is you that they are listening to is great.

You can have a list as big as you want but if you don’t have a relationship with the people you are lost.

I have just started being mentored by Alex Jeffreys and this stuff is all starting to make sense to me now.

Great post mate

Glyn

Mark,

Informative post. I like your blog design by the waty as well. I do have a question though. Which forum do you go to and how do you find them? For example, the IM niche has a few popular forums with volumes of traffic but what about someone in the quilt making niche?

Mark,

A good article, you summarized the process. Thanks.

Hi Mark

Yes, it took me a little while to realise that list building is SO important, if not the number one priority and then to build a relationship with them. As a newbie there is so much overwhelming information, that you cant see the woods from the trees. But, when you get this one small point, when the penny really drops, then everything changes!

This is useful information that I need as I have just started my blog and need valuable information to build a successful blog. This will be a positive step in the right direction.

As you know once you become a student of mine you also become a friend for life.

All my students are welcome to join future coaching programs to help others and to learn that little more as each class seems to get bigger and better.

I will take a look at your blog and post a comment
